How It Works
Take a clear photo of your specimen, upload it to Geo-Gem, and our AI model analyzes the color, texture, crystal structure, and other visual properties to identify it. Results include the rock or mineral name, geological category (igneous, sedimentary, metamorphic, mineral, gemstone, or fossil), a confidence score, and key physical properties such as hardness, luster, streak, and common locations.
Community Verification
After an AI identification, community members with geology expertise can confirm or correct the result. Expert-verified identifications are marked so you can trust the accuracy. You can also share your find as a community discovery, add a GPS location, and get feedback from fellow collectors.
Identification History & Journal
All your identifications are saved to your personal rock journal. Track what you've found, when, and where. Pro and Premium subscribers can upload up to five photos per identification for higher accuracy.
